The Magnetrol E4 Modulevel Liquid Level Transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered displacer transmitter that uses proven buoyancy principles to measure liquid level, interface level or specific gravity and convert the change into a stable 4–20 mA output signal. The level-sensing element is mechanically linked to the output electronics, providing a robust measurement design for demanding process applications.

The E4 Modulevel is now SIL 2 certified, strengthening its suitability for use in safety-critical liquid level and interface measurement applications where dependable performance is required as part of a correctly designed Safety Instrumented System.

Equipped with microprocessor-based electronics, the E4 Modulevel supports 4–20 mA and HART® 7 digital output, with compatibility for FDT/DTM standards. PACTware™ PC software provides additional configuration, diagnostics and trending capabilities, helping engineers set up and monitor the instrument efficiently.

The vertical in-line configuration reduces instrument weight and simplifies installation, while the range spring design helps suppress the effects of turbulence to provide a stable output signal. With a choice of configurations, pressure ratings and hazardous area approvals, the E4 Modulevel is suitable for a wide range of industrial level measurement duties, including challenging applications involving turbulence, foam, boiling liquids and interface measurement.
