The Jerome J405 Fixed Monitoring Mercury Vapour Analyser is a heavy-duty system designed for continuous, long-term monitoring of airborne mercury vapour at trace concentration levels. The system utilises AMETEK Brookfield’s highly specific, patented gold film sensor for reliable detection in safety, environmental and occupational exposure monitoring applications.
Housed within a robust GRP environmental enclosure rated to IP66/7, the analyser is designed for permanent outdoor installation where adverse weather and challenging site conditions prevent the use of standard portable instruments. Integrated thermostatic heating and cooling are used to maintain stable internal conditions for long-term monitoring across a wide ambient temperature range.

The system is supplied with a universal backplate and mounting hardware, allowing installation on a wall, pole, fence or custom-built frame. Multiple units can be used to form a perimeter monitoring system for continuous site coverage. An illuminated local display, visual alarm beacon and health check beacon provide clear on-site status indication and support rapid response to elevated mercury levels.
A key operational advantage is the detachable, handheld Jerome J405 Mercury Vapour Analyser within the unit. The analyser can be removed for survey work to help pinpoint the source of mercury contamination so that corrective action can be taken.
The analyser supports both digital and analogue outputs, including a passive 4–20 mA signal for connection to site monitoring or control systems, making it suitable for fixed installation where continuous mercury vapour monitoring is required.
