Dwyer Series 4000 Capsuhelic Differential Pressure Gauge
Mechanical indication of pressure, vacuum and differential pressure on gas or liquid systems operating at static pressures up to 500 psig.
Key highlights
- High static pressure: Reads small differentials at up to 500 psig
- Versatile measurement: Pressure, vacuum or differential pressure indication
- Media options: Aluminium or brass housings for compatible gas or liquid service
- 4-inch dial: Clear local indication with external zero and range adjustment
- Flexible mounting: Surface, flush or optional pipe mounting
The Dwyer Series 4000 Capsuhelic is a mechanical differential pressure gauge designed to indicate pressure, vacuum or differential pressure in gas and liquid systems. Its integral pressure capsule contains the measured pressure within the instrument.
This design allows small pressure differences to be read on systems operating at static pressures up to 500 psig. It is intended for duties where system pressure, rather than the required differential span, rules out a conventional low-static-pressure gauge.
Housing selection depends on the process medium. The standard die-cast aluminium case is specified for air, compatible gases and oil-based liquids. Water and water-based liquids require the optional forged-brass housing, while wetted-material compatibility should be confirmed for the application.
A 4-inch dial provides clear local indication. External zero and range adjustments allow routine adjustment without opening the gauge, and duplicated high- and low-pressure connections support suitable routing for gas or liquid service.
Typical applications include filter pressure-drop monitoring, fluid-flow indication and liquid-level measurement in pressurised storage tanks, together with pressure or vacuum indication. Selection should account for pressure range, scale, housing material, diaphragm material and installation orientation.
Key Features
- Integral pressure capsule: Contains system pressure within the gauge for small differential-pressure readings at elevated static pressure
- Frictionless movement: Provides responsive mechanical indication without a liquid-filled measuring column
- External adjustment: Zero and range adjustments are accessible without routine disassembly
- Media-specific housings: Standard aluminium and optional forged-brass cases support the specified gas or liquid service
- Duplicated pressure taps: Separate upper and lower connection pairs assist correct installation for gas or liquid duties
- Mounting flexibility: Standard hardware supports surface or flush installation, with additional bracket and pipe-mounting accessories available
- Scale and calibration options: Standard, bidirectional and custom scales are available alongside signal-flag and NIST-traceable calibration options
